This is a press release from sitting Berowra MP Phillip Ruddock.

In areas of Berowra with patchy mobile coverage, the Coalition’s plan to target mobile black

spots is great news.

“For too long areas of Berowra have battled with calls dropping out or, even worse, no signal

at all.” said Mr Ruddock.

“The Rudd Government abolished the Coalition’s $2.4 billion Communications Fund, and neither Rudd nor Gillard have invested in expanding the mobile network.”

The Coalition’s Mobile Black Spot Programme will see $100 million invested to improve

mobile phone coverage.

$80 million will improve coverage along major transport routes and in small communities,

with another $20 million targeted at unique mobile coverage problems, such as areas with

high seasonal demand.

“For residents in places like Dangar Island, Brooklyn, Berowra Waters and Galston this is

great news” said Mr Ruddock.

“And I know they’re not the only ones affected. If you know of any other black spots in the area, please let me know”.
