Stage set for annual French Film Festival

THANK-YOU to all who helped run and promote our French Film Festival last weekend.
Nanjing Night Net

The festival was a great success. Numbers for each movie were: Farewell My Queen 53, Granny’s Funeral 71, Haute Cuisine 88 and Happiness Never Comes Alone 77.

Patrons were all happy and enjoyed the films so much they suggested it should be an annual event.

Cilla Kinross’s opening speech was excellent and very well researched.

Peter Bilenkij’s presentation on the history of film’s run in Orange and the early film society was also excellent and brought back fond memories.

President Lisa Baillie, cooked up some delicious food and also acted as MC.

Thanks to Stockman’s Ridge for providing wines on our opening day.

Thank-you also to the Odeon 5 Cinemas staff who were most helpful beforehand and over the weekend.

Thanks also to Lithgow Valley Movie Club for their congratulations and memento for the occasion.

Not forgetting Bob Parr of Wallis Cinema who organised all the bookings for us.

Elaina Neville,

Orange Film Society
